As a kid I remember watching the KC metro area weather forecast. The Tonganoxie split became a household term because it always seemed like any major weather system either went north or south from there. The point of origin for anything major in the world of weather or at least around here. And based upon this point of reference we either got the severe weather or were simply disappointed. The difference between snow days and having more stuff crammed into our heads by our teachers. Guess which one we always prayed for!

I caught a glimpse of the weather forecast last night and felt a little like a kid again. Hoping for our first significant snow fall of the year. But then I woke up to find out that it didn’t happen. Oh well. Disappointments come as well as the answer to our wishes. You take the good and the bad.
