Social or Not

I guess one of the quirks of being a people person is the need to take a break from all the people. I will be the first to admit that I really cherish my quiet time and space to simply read a book. If only I could figure out how to retrain my arm. It seems to have developed this habit of reaching for the Blackberry every time it vibrates. It is a conditioned response–honest! It falls right in line with the other conditioned responses we have like:

1) How are you doing? Conditioned response – “Great!” (even if your world is crashing down.)
2) What’s up? Conditioned response – “Not much.” (but you are running like a chicken with it’s head cut off!)
3) What do you want to do for dinner? Conditioned response – “I don’t know!” (Seriously???)
4) How was your day? Conditioned response – “Ok.” (Win the Lottery and see if the response is the same!)

I think you get the gist. Conditioned responses – mine as a people person is to over indulge in people to the point that I need to find private time. Seriously!
